🌤️ A Valentine's Day to remember

We arrived on Valentine's Day, and immediately noticed something: Bagnols-sur-Cèze was anything but deserted. On the contrary — the restaurants were full, city life sounded lively, and the cobblestones of the historic centre radiated warmth. It felt like a welcome contrast to the storms elsewhere.

Some people think that Provence is only beautiful in summer, but nothing could be further from the truth: it is in winter that you see the pure, peaceful and authentic side of the region. Villages and towns become more intimate, without large crowds of tourists; pleasant terraces with mainly local faces invite you to sit down with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine.

Die week was een eerste echte ontmoeting tussen ons en La Pinède Bleue als thuisbasis — in weer dat niet perfect was, maar juist daardoor puur en eerlijk.
Het winterlicht dat speelt op de stenen muren, de apéro-momenten bij zonneschijn, en zelfs de frisse nachten vol sterren hebben ons laten voelen waar deze plek echt voor staat. Dit is geen plek die enkel mooi is wanneer alles perfect lijkt — La Pinède Bleue is een plek die leeft met de seizoenen.
